Hold Back

I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. Psalms 119:101

My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason; like Sheol let us swallow them alive, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we shall find all precious goods, we shall fill our houses with plunder; throw in your lot among us; we will all have one purse”— my son, do not walk in the way with them; hold back your foot from their paths, for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood. For in vain is a net spread in the sight of any bird, but these men lie in wait for their own blood; they set an ambush for their own lives. There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19

Their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their highways. The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their paths; they have made their roads crooked; no one who treads on them knows peace. Isaiah 59:7-8

His Story

This life is short, but there is One (and ONLY one) who offers eternal life, and His name is Jesus. Here you will find encouragement and Scriptural inspiration for your walk with our Beloved Savior. Because we believers are being prepared during this one lifetime to spend eternity with our mighty, living God in the next, nothing could be more important. All else will fade away.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:15-17

For those who are unfamiliar with scrapbooking, the pages made are called “layouts.” The digital scrapbook "world" has a regular practice where they choose a “layout of the day” to feature (which is an honor). The name of this page is “Layout for Today” because there is one per day (but the words “of the” [day] were intentionally not used, because the point is to bring honor and glory to God, not to any person).
